Job summary
Responsible for preparation and execution of functional testing as part of project delivery to ensure that the introduced changes/applications/systems behave as expected, and do not have an adverse effect on existing systems behaviour.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
* Review and Evaluate Business Requirements Documents and Technical Specification Documents to elicit test cases
* Prepare and execute manual and automated test scripts
* Execute functional testing of the applications and associated systems/infrastructure
* Where required execute Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing
* Analyse defects and test failures and ensure that they are reported and tracked per the Quality Management Standards and Guidelines
* Ensure that any perceived defects are checked in other available environments to determine whether they are existing issues
* Ability to track and report on progress to the Project Delivery Team
* Ability to recommend potential solutions/workarounds where appropriate
Qualifications
Essential
* Third level qualification in IT or an IT-related discipline or equivalent work experience
Desirable
* ISTQB foundation or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Previous QA experience within a software development environment
* Proficient knowledge of MS Access and MS Excel
* Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
* Previous experience in the Waterfall methodology
Desirable
* Knowledge/previous experience of working with Insurance and/or Financial Services applications
* Previous experience in the Agile methodology
