The Automation Engineers will be highly experienced automation and embedded serial protocols. Ideally the Automation Engineer will have a degree in an engineering or computer science field with three years experience in industry.
Responsibilities:
* Configure, install and commission hardware and software systems
* Development of technical and material requirements
* Develop, test and install PLC and control software as part of a highly automated, high volume 24/7 validated production environment
* Develop Functional and Detailed Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications
* Work within a cross-functional multidisciplinary team environment.
* Participate within project teams, provide technical support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of code
* Prioritise multiple tasks while working to tight schedules
* Develop machine control software
* Develop, debug and validate Control System software programs
* Analyse, understand, fault-find and modify automation software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to organise, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules
* Highly motivated self-starter
* Ability to document own work clearly and precisely
* Produce reports and technical data
Education and Experience:
* Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Experience with automation and embedded serial protocols (MODBUS, Profibus, RS-232, RS-485)
* Working knowledge of systems such as PLC, BACnet, Ethernet networking, PI Historian, relational databases, wireless telemetry are a distinct advantage
* Knowledge of C and scripting languages
* Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with automation and power management systems (Safe Pass)
* Clean Driver's Licence
* Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills
