CISCO Network Engineer - Clare, Ireland

We are seeking talented & experienced CISCO Network Engineer for our client a leading employer in the beautiful mid-west of Ireland!. The CISCO Network Engineer will be comfortable addressing both routine and non-routine network related problems for the customer. They will be able to perform tasks that are not always clearly defined and are not part of a regular workflow cycle.

Required skills/experience:

* Computer science related degree and/or minimum of 3 to 5 or more years of experience in networking technologies including TCP/IP, Enterprise DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, WAN Optimisation, IPv4/v6, UNIX Admin and experience with switches, routers (BGP/OSPF), firewalls, IPS, Network Security Monitoring technologies in Intranet/Internet/Extranet environments.

Desirable skills and experience with any of the following:

* Configuration, operational support and administration of

* PaloAlto firewalls
* Cisco ASA and ISR platforms
* Aruba/HPE wireless LAN
* HPE wired LAN switches in a datacentre or general office environment
* Bluecat DNS/DHCP or other IPAM solution
* Client Endpoint Protection and NAC

* Operational support of a corporate WAN:

* MPLS
* VPN-Internet
* Point-to-Point

* Experience with troubleshooting client networking issues scenarios across multiple networking platforms and operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux)
* Network Management & Performance Analysis:

* Solarwinds
* Netflow

* Networking for a virtualised compute environment

* VMWare ESX and/or NSX
* VDI computing

* Linux shell and Windows scripting
* Experience in programming and scripting languages like PHP, Python, Perl, etc
* Experience with DevOps workflows and tools and familiarity with Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins and other DevOps tools.
* Interpersonal skills: Comfortable with Video & Voice Communication, face to face communication; possess good active listening with a focus on the customer.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written, short term operational project management
* Strong remote troubleshooting and support skills.
