WHAT TO EXPECT

Working within our mapping and localisation team as a Software Engineer, you’ll develop new techniques for utilising high-definition maps as part of a fused perception system. These will be embedded in the autonomous driving systems that we’re creating for future Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

In this role, you’ll extract map data to produce horizon data streams for the autonomous software stack. You’ll also work with map providers and other standards organisations, to identify and integrate different autonomous driving components into one system. It’s a broad and wide-reaching role, which will give you exposure to a variety of different engineering disciplines and projects.

With a focus on future projects and technologies, this is a fast moving and challenging role. But in return, we offer the opportunity to make a real difference to our rapidly growing business, along with all the career progression opportunities you’d expect from a global business.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

With a degree (or higher qualification) in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering or a related STEM field, you’ll have previous experience in developing real-time software systems that utilise mapping or location technologies.

Ideally, you’ll also have previous experience in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS); data analysis techniques for building evaluation ground truthing metrics; hands on experience with programming languages including: C++, python, bash, Matlab, Linux system services; and experience with using HD maps for localisation methods. It would also be an advantage if you have knowledge of mapping database formats; automotive radar, vision and sensor fusion techniques; and editing, storing, retrieving, and visualising large scale point cloud.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation where you'll receive a competitive salary and benefits package and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team.
