An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Senior Perception Engineer focusing on localisation, you’ll be part of the team that’s developing core algorithms for interpreting sensor data within Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. These algorithms will be embedded into our future innovations, to ensure our vehicles are able to make intelligent, autonomous driving decisions.

Working across laser, radar and vision and mapping, you’ll be responsible for developing state-of-the-art algorithms and tools that will be used for object detection, tracking and classification. You’ll design effective and efficient feature detection methods to assist with online localisation; and you’ll ensure that everything you produce is robust enough to withstand changes in lighting and weather conditions.

With a focus on future projects and technologies, this is a fast moving and challenging role. But in return, we offer the opportunity to make a real difference to our rapidly growing business, along with all the career progression opportunities you’d expect from a global business.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Alongside a Masters degree or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, statistics, maths or physics, you’ll have extensive industry experience of localisation, mapping, visual odometry, computer vision and/or machine learning. You’ll also be experienced in functional programming with C/C++, and will know all about probabilistic filtering and non-linear optimisation techniques.

On top of this, it would be helpful if you have experience in sensor fusion, parallel/grid computer, agile software development, OpenCV, Tensorflow, Theano or other such deep learning toolchains. Previous experience of working in the automotive industry would be preferred, but isn’t essential. It would also be an advantage if you can demonstrate real-world applications of localisation/mapping techniques, too.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation where you'll receive a competitive salary and benefits package and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team.
