The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data science, as you will be leading the building of a modern, world-class data science platform. Desirable experience also includes mathematics and statistics.
The tech stack includes Python, Django, AWS, Angular and Selenium. This is not a hands-on role but you should be able to code if the need arises. The preferred candidate will come from a Python development background, but if your experience is with another programming language but you are able to demonstrate a solid understanding of this tech stack and you have a genuine belief in its benefits, your application will also be considered.
Key Requirements:
* Lead a multidisciplinary team of 8-10 developers, assisting them in delivering solutions (applicants must have minimum of 3 years' experience managing a high calibre medium sized engineering team)
* Lead the delivery of a new data science platform (previous experience developing cloud-based software solutions essential)
* Responsible for making technical decisions and structuring the product roadmap
* Engage with and analyse client's technical requirements and suggest/specify technological solutions
* Spearhead projects, making realistic goals and ensuring all team members are focused and motivated to achieve these
* Implement agile practices eg continuous improvement and scrum meetings (experience with GIT, code reviews, TDD and Continuous Delivery essential)
* Ensure best use is made of AWS through managing DevOps
* Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments and demonstrate and enthusiasm for new technologies

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential
* High level of attention to detail
* Ability to both people manage and make high level technical decisions
