Data Analyst (Operations)
The purpose of this role is to drive improvements in operational performance and efficiency for the clients business.
and its customers by providing insight to the business through accurate, timely and relevant analysis and reporting of operational data.
The role holder will be an expert or become expert in the use of the Company IT systems for analysis, including the
Targit Business Intelligence system and custom tools.
A key objective of the role will be to ensure the timely availability of clear information and performance indicators to support live operation.
It will also be a requirement of the role to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Company operation and customer requirements and to assist in the testing
and delivery of new technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
Validating the accuracy and integrity of data from source to use in reporting and analysis, for current and new data
sources
Ensuring the Company is extracting maximum value from data within operational systems
Ensuring that analytics and reporting is aligned with the priorities outlined by the Operations senior team and the
Company Strategy
Identifying and utilising the appropriate data sources and analytics and data visualisation tools for each analysis
Identifying key business insights and opportunities for improved operational performance and customer experience for
customers and users of the service.
Ensuring that high level reporting and analyses are designed to be always available and that in-depth analyses are
repeatable
Developing and producing reports and analysis focused on identifying opportunities to improve performance and
efficiency
Designing and scheduling reports for various levels of the organisation
Ensuring awareness within the business of the opportunity for automated reporting
Ensuring that report design and analysis include insights or recommendations that will enable targeted action
Ensuring that existing reports and analyses are regularly review, updated and improved upon
Preparing analyses and reports on request and distributing or presenting outputs as appropriate
Supporting the development of Targit and other systems used for BI and data analysis
Assisting in the testing and delivery of new technology projects
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Relevant third level qualification
Experience of or a qualification in Business Process Improvement
Strong communication and team work skills
Sound judgement and clear thinking
Ability to think strategically
Ability to manage strict deadlines and timely reporting
Ability to work with analytics tools and complex data sets
Strong understanding of IT business systems
Experience in a customer focused and service driven organisation
Experience with predictive analytics
Experience in data mining and discovery
