Our client is looking to hire a Proofreader / Editor. The successful candidate will proofread a range of content such as copy for the website, press releases, blogs and technical copy. The individual will be responsible for upholding accuracy, consistency in messaging and style across all our clients written assets, and will be able to flag up potential issues for example, potential legal concerns. He/She will be comfortable working at a steady pace, ensuring that our clients copy is of the highest quality.
There will also be some editing, for example editing content about our clients products. This will require determining whether a piece of copy works, whether the writer needs to add additional information, or whether certain sections should be cut. Blogs may also need editing, to find the best angle and intro and iron out any issues in the writing.
There may be writing tasks on occasion, for example, to help the communications team at particularly busy times.
Liaise with the communications, marketing and design teams on work that needs to be done
Liaise with our clients staff to answer questions arising during proofreading or editing
Contribute to our clients style guide
Be part of the communications team and join regular calls
Find and fix clumsy grammar and tortuous wording
Strike out jargon
Simplify technical language, where appropriate
Comfortable with remote working.
Prioritise work as it comes in terms of importance.

It is imperative that you read each word carefully and individually.
Proven experience working as a proofreader and editor.
Perfect written English skills and flawless English comprehension.
Native English speaker.
