SQL Database Administrator

realTime Recruitment is currently on the lookout for a SQL Database Administrator to join our Client’s large and expanding Infrastructure team in South Dublin City. You will be responsible for administrating and developing several large-scale SQL Server database systems comprising of both high-volume transaction processing and data warehouse environments.
This is a permanent position with a salary in the region of €58,000 - €63,000 (plus a €5000 bonus!).
Responsibilities

• Managing physical, virtualised and clustered SQL Server instances
• Ensuring the highest level of system security, reliability and performance are maintained
• Performance tuning and optimisation including SP/SQL execution, locking issues and system utilisation.
• Work closely with our Client’s development and data warehouse teams to ensure production changes are checked and verified
• Managing database backups and disaster recovery

Attributes and Skills

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role with experience in SQL Server 2012/2014
• Strong T-SQL programming
• Knowledge of PowerShell and/or other scripting languages
• A forward-looking attitude to database technologies, choosing solutions that best meet our Client’s longer-term business needs

Nice to have:

• Experience of MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of cloud based RDBMS systems, e.g. AWS RDS, Azure
