Deskside Support Engineer (Level 3)

Our client is a very high profile multinational technology company with a significant presence in Ireland. Right now; they require an experienced Deskside Support (Level 3) engineer to work with one of their North Dublin clients.

This will be a minimum 6-month contract paying an attractive daily rate.
The Deskside Support Engineer will split their time working on two separate sites (approximately 20Km's apart).

Suitable candidates MUST have their own transport.

This is a Level 3 Desktop End User workspace support role (supporting PC hardware, software) and requires knowledge of how networks work, printer setup skills etc. Suitable applicants will have a minimum of 4-5 years Desktop Support with excellent troubleshooting skills and Network / Infrastructure support (cabling, racking, vendor escorts, following documented and established procedures in comms rooms etc.)

Duties:

* Monitor ticket queues - making sure assigned work is responded to / resolved in line with established SLA's
* Comply with Team Lead in relation to client and internal Health and Safety trainings and compliance requirements
* Asset Management - management of tasks relating to the BMS asset database
* Desk moves, new user setups
* Support of a walk-up service kiosk
* Cabling - network port patching and tracing
* Network connectivity troubleshooting
* Application troubleshooting
* Remote access setup and troubleshooting
* Hardware - understand and resolve issues with hard disk encryption, corruption, space issues, etc

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

* Previous experience of Desktop (Level 3) support
* Strong Troubleshooting and Analytical skills as well as good multi-tasking abilities (required)
* Very strong customer facing skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure
* Energetic individual required to keep up with tasks in a rapidly expanding physical environment

Desirable Skills:

* Infrastructure Support experience (Switches, Servers, Wireless Access Points)
* Microsoft qualifications would be useful (not essential)
