Data Scientist - Limerick

Exciting and expanding start-up company requires talented data scientist to join their team! The successful candidate will be involved in the expansion of my client and their product, where data science is at the centre and plays a very significant role. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for any experienced data scientist as they will be given the opportunity to work with rich data and the freedom to set the direction of their own work and to try out and implement new ideas. A big part of the role will involve working with, supporting and often leading a team consisting of analyst and developers. The successful candidate will be confident in their own data scientific abilities and will be able to work self-sufficiently and independently as a major part of the role will be working alone or leading a team.

Responsibilities

* Support and advise team members on advanced analytics
* Strategize tactics for areas of improvements
* Make big decisions based on results

Requirements

* 3+ years in a commercial environment
* PhD
* Proficiency in Spark
* Proficiency in Scala (Python and R also considered)
* Good understanding of machine learning models
* Good knowledge of various data types (including behavioural, transactional etc.)
* Strong decision maker
* Good team player
* Strong ability to be self sufficient
* Good ability to work with agile methods

Salary and Benefits

* Negotiable for the right candidate ~ €50-60k
