Principal Java Developer
This is the number one Java job available in Belfast at this time! This Principal Java Developer position is based in Belfast city centre and is paying up to £60k per annum for the right candidate. The successful Java Developer will take a lead role in the largest new project in global eCommerce.

This job is with one of the biggest brands in global sport retail and one of the major success stories to come out of Northern Ireland in the last twenty years. They employ over 600 people here locally and would generate over 150 million in eCommerce sales annually. This is an exciting time to join the company as a Java Developer as they are about to embark on a program of large scale technology investment based on Oracle technologies. This job is key in these plans and the plans my client has in place will challenge and excite any Java Developer who is considering a change in 2017.
Who is the ideal candidate for this job?
We are looking for Java Developers who live and breathe enterprise Java. You must understand what it takes to design software that is used by millions of people as well having relentless high standards when designing robust, scalable and maintainable software solutions. Although this role will not involve managing staff, you must be a true team player who enjoys collaborating with and mentoring others so everyone can become better Java developers. Since this is a sports company it would be desirable that you understand the positive difference sport and exercise can make.
What are the essential skills?
We are looking for Principal Java Developers with at least 7 years' experience designing, developing and maintaining large scale web applications . You must be an expert in OO design with an in-depth knowledge of design patterns . As an experienced Java Developer you must be an expert working with relational database systems and SQL in high volume transactional applications . You must be able to write algorithms, data structures that optimise performance . It is not essential but we would love to hear from Java Developers that have experience in Oracle Commerce platform development or experience of multi-language and multi-currency environments.
