As the Senior Systems Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:
Excellent in-depth knowledge of Windows Server from 2008 to 2012R2.
Setup Hyper-V Failover Clustering and using PowerShell to automate manual tasks.
Operation, administration and automation of cloud platforms including: Azure and AWS.
Creating and implementing standard image templates in Windows & Linux and enforcing system standards.
Monitoring performance, troubleshoot systems problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with System Engineers & Architects on optimisation.
Setup systems and application monitoring / reporting using Ops Manager, Solarwinds, SCOM and AppDynamics.
Automation of day to day tasks using scripting languages such as Powershell / Bash / Python
Management of our Commvault backup infrastructure
Deployment of operating system and hardware based updates using WSUS and Dell Openmanage Essentials
Monitoring performance, troubleshooting systems problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, patching, collaborating with System Engineers & Architects on optimisation
Provide on call support for the Development Operations team in an outage situation.
Work as part of the team to ensure projects and goals are delivered to aggressive timelines.
Ongoing maintenance of documentation relating to new and current systems throughout the organisation.
Requirements
5+ years of proven experience as Systems Engineer in a Windows/Linux environment.
Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting ability on all aspects of the Networking Stack.
Experience working in an operating system agnostic infrastructure (Linux RHEL/Windows).
Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.
Experience in implementing operational automation a distinct advantage.
