Experienced .NET Developer (min 3 years’ experience)

An opportunity has arisen for a bright articulate ambitious developer to join our development team.

We are looking for a highly motivated experienced .NET developer who is hungry to move their career onto the next level.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who wants to make a difference and to have an impact in their new role.

The successful candidate will be joining the company at just the right time and will have a key role in helping to grow the development team.

Initial Responsibilities

You will initially be responsible with familiarising yourself with, and maintaining and enhancing the existing .NET applications which are based on a service orientated architecture, utilising Web API and WCF.

You will be working on real world applications that are used by the general public on a daily basis. While the main console application has been live for a number of years in leading retailers in the UK and Ireland, it is planned to sell the suite of products worldwide. Our on-line web portal is going live within the next month.

You will have a fantastic opportunity to progress and grow in a fast moving expanding company. As you are joining a small development team you will be exposed to working on all aspects of the existing and new products, exposing you to a large range of technologies and platforms. This will allow you to rapidly grow your skill set. You will have an impact on the design of new products, helping to grow and enhance the current suite.

As the team grows, so will your responsibilities including mentoring junior developers and running code reviews

Experience

You must have experience developing client facing applications using C# and the .NET framework 4.0 (min), including Webforms, WCF, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and WPF. You should be at ease using HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript/jQuery. Any experience/interest in the Javascript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, Knockout would be well received.

You should have a good understanding of the main concepts in play when developing for the web such HTTP, REST, SOAP/RESTful web services, MVC, WCF, Web API, JSON, asynchronous processing, responsive design, developing secure code.

You will have had experience of all stages of the SDLC and will have worked in environments that implement practices such as continuous integration and deployment, agile development methodologies, source control systems, code reviews

In general our products are developed using the full Microsoft stack. However, if there is a valid reason, tools and frameworks from outside the Microsoft stack will be used.

Requirements

·         3+ years development experience

·         B.Sc. in Computer Science or similar

·         Full Stack .NET Developer

·         .NET / C# including Webforms, ASP.NET MVC5, WPF, WCF

·         Web services – SOAP, RESTful

·         Databases - SQL Server, MySQL

·         Mobile application development experience, preferably using Xamarain

·         Web development tools - HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, jQuery UI, SaaS, LESS

·         O/RM Frameworks – nHibernate, Entity Framework

·         Distributed version control software – Git, Mercurial

·         Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, and the various frameworks and tools used - nUnit, MsTest, rhinoMocks, Moq.

·         Automated testing tools – Sahi, Selenium

·         Build tools and frameworks – Powershell, Nant, CI Frameworks (Jenkins, TeamCity)

·         Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies

·         Experience using JIRA

·         Excellent communication and problem solving skillsets

·         Passionate about continually up-skilling and learning new technologies

·         Familiarity with the SOLID design principles

·         A passion for crafting clean elegant secure code

Nice to have

·         Experience using R or Python for data analytics would be advantageous.
