Data Engineer - Dublin
Based in the heart of Dublin's Silicon Docks (Dublin 2), our client has been at the forefront in changing the internet and online technologies as we know it.
They require a Data Engineer with 2-3 years minimum programming experience with Python, C/C++, Java and distributed systems, as well as strong SQL skills, to join their growing team. Initially on an 11-month contract, responsible for building tools to automate reporting and dashboard updates so clients can see quickly and accurately how projects are functioning.
What will the Data Engineer role involve?
* Arrange user needs, make recommendations and drive implementation for product or process changes.
* Liaise with relevant stakeholders to deliver appropriate Business Intelligence (BI), data warehousing, reporting and analytical infrastructure required to aid management teams and analysts.
* Create infrastructure and device maintenance strategy for internal datasets.
* Develop and work on automating data extraction, large data sets, build monitoring/reporting dashboards and high value, automated BI solutions.
* Design and advance Key Performance Indicators to monitor the strength of database assets and the performance of internal operations, providing analysis and strategic insights to aid progress.
What experience do I need for the Data Engineer role?
* Degree/Masters in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A good understanding and experience with Python, C/C++, Java, distributed systems.
* Capable of using SQL
* ETL and Linux experience would be an advantage
* The ability to work with systems processing event based logs, user logs, etc.
* Proficient with BI technologies and their application including database warehousing and dashboarding experience.
