IT Security Engineer

IT Security opportunity. There are excellent opportunities available currently across AppSec, Ethical Hacking, pentesting. Permanent and Daily rate. Locations across Ireland. Remote work can be facilitated.

Responsibilities:

* Be a source of information security subject matter with an expertise in Web Application Security
* Understands and be comfortable explaining OWASP top 10
* Ability to introduce and articulate new security measures
* Experience with automated testing tools/frameworks

You will provide technical leadership for Software Security. As Security Engineer you will analyse software designs and implementations from a security perspective, and identify and resolve security issues. You will include the appropriate security analysis, defences and countermeasures at each phase of the software development lifecycle, to result in robust and reliable software.

The CVs they have received so far seem to be more on the DNS/Firewall/Security side than someone who has come from Java/C#/Javascript/other/software side of things"

Need someone from a software engineering / Java background. A key part of the role is that in addition to knowledge in Security space, the person needs to be able to, at least, understand code and design and work closely with software engineers. So someone who knows what OWASP top 10, and can review code and suggest how we improve it.

Don't necessarily need to be a Developer, but will have to be confident in dealing with developers, in looking at pieces of code, in advising about OWASP top 10.

This role would suit someone who has a programming/development background primarily with a very strong interest and ideally good experience in security. Or a web application security specialists that has minimal development experience / experience dealing with developers.

You should have good security awareness particularly around OWASP, encryption and vulnerability/penetration testing. Desirable skills would be a security engineering degree/module as part of a degree, CEH certified, GCHQ cert.
