Role overview
* Act as an Automation Specialist and provide test automation expertise to internal test teams
* Develop and maintain automated scripts using UFT/ALM as the primary automation tool
* Understanding and appreciation of framework based test automation standards and best practices
* Work with application test teams to develop scripts, ensure handover and acceptance from them
* Adopt to existing automation framework and suggest enhancements where applicable
* Help complete updates to automation packs and provide expert support on usage
Our Testing teams are located in Dublin, UK and Bangkok and are responsible for testing functional and business process changes to IFDS' systems such as Percana / FAST / Bluedoor / AWD with the primary objective of ensuring that any new system functions or changes to existing functions are defect-free and support current business operations before handover to live operation.
Testing teams also assist with joint IFDS-Client testing of automated information flows between IFDS and Management Company systems. The teams are also responsible for supporting new Client take-on by performing user acceptance test cycles (typically 3) to prove the data conversion, that the Clients business processes can be supported by IFDS and allow the Client to review and sign-off Client correspondence produced from the test cycles.
During 2013 and beyond we established a central function of Test Automation to make improvements in the scope, quality, cost and execution time of our testing. To help assist in introduction Test Automation across our teams in Ireland we are looking for a Test Automation Specialist. Our ambition to expand Test Automation is part of company strategy and so you will be heavily supported in achieving success at a global level.
Experience skills/required
* About 5 years of experiences in software testing with recent 2-3 years in test automation
* Sound knowledge of QTP/UFT working in expert view using VB Scripting
* Exposure to keyword and data driven automation frameworks
* Knowledge of the HP ALM/Quality Centre suite of products
* Degree in computer science or other relevant qualification
* Excellent communication skills
* Self motivated
Desirable skills
* Strong understanding of Testing best practices (ISEB/ISTQB certification)
* Experience in other automation tools such as Selenium, Test Complete
* Exposure in any other development technologies such as VBA, Java, C#
* Experience within the financial industry
