Job Description – Software Developer
Specific Job Duties:
- Developing and maintaining in-house applications written in VB6 and C#, using both Progress and SQL Server databases.
- Developing and maintaining in-house web applications written in Classic ASP, ASP.Net, C#/MVC and SQL Server.
- Developing and maintaining/updating website written in PHP.
- Developing and maintaining/updating Email Verification Application written in C# with interfaces to Classic ASP and VB.Net.
- Developing and maintaining/updating website written in MVC/C#.
- Monitoring of in-house written proxy application written in C# to populate vehicle details from the vehicle registration on the website.
- Developing and maintaining/updating financial calculator SharpCalc written in VB.Net with an understanding of PMT/FV/PV/i/Amt amortization.
- Liaising with Business users & accurately interpret the requirements for new or amended systems functionality.
- Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects;
- Learning about the business in order to understand the code logic of the in-house applications
- Maintaining and upgrading NET applications
- Converting applications from VB6 to C#
- Help desk/customer support.

Requirements:
- Creating / updating windows forms and web pages applications (C# and Classic ASP)
- Proven experience with delivering software applications.
- Programming language: C#, javascript / jquery / angularJS / PHP / CSS
- VBA/VB6 desirable, or willingness to understand VBA/VB6
- NET
- Framework 4.5 or higher
- MVC and Web Forms design
- WCF web service
- IIS. 7.5 and 10.0
- C#
- Visual Studio
- Understanding of consuming in house services written in WCF
- Good knowledge of the Maths library for amortisation calculations
- Database management, ODBC and SQL Server interfacing
- Database:
- Progress database. Not essential, ODBC will suffice.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2008 and 2019, including stored procedures
