Release Train Engineer - 6 Month Contract
Hybrid Working (4 day in Dublin Office)
Our client, a global Fintech and payments company, has embarked on a large scale Product and Tech transformation this year and as part of this, they are looking to align close to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Having recently concluded second Product Interval (PI) they are looking to starting their Third PI shortly.
To facilitate the PI process, they are looking for Release Train Engineers (RTE) to work with their Agile Release Train (AT) teams.
Key Responsibilities:
PI Planning Facilitation
* Gain an understanding of product roadmap and priorities for the team for upcoming PI's
* Use dashboards to track, verify & report content readiness against priorities and baseline capacity of teams
* Facilitate the PI planning for Product Area and Technology teams on the day of PI planning
* Continuously support the team by resolving queries related to PI planning process or tooling
* Conduct a PI Planning retrospective and record and track key actions from retro
Support PI Execution
* Facilitate periodic synchronisation events within Product Area such as Scrum of Scrums/ART sync, iteration demos and System demos
* Support backlog refinement for Product area teams
* Promote DevOps and continuous delivery
Coaching and Mentoring:
* Coach the Product and Tech teams in agile and PI process
* Help increase adoption of SAFe within organisation through roadshow and other events
* Create local CoP and drive the lean agile way of thinking
Continuous Improvement:
* Seek feedback from various stakeholders in PI
* Continuously look for opportunities to improve the process to make it lean and efficient
Skills and experience required:
* 1-2 years of hands-on experience of working as a Release Train Engineer or Solution Train Engineer within an organisation ideally with 50-150 people within an Agile Release Train
* Experience in working with a large global matrix organisation where solution development and delivery is done across multiple ARTs/Product Areas/teams.
* JIRA and Confluence tooling experience
* Ability to track and monitor health of a Planning Interval quantitatively and qualitatively.
* Ability to be able to present to senior stakeholder's, SVPs and EVPs
