Lead Software Engineer €80,000 - €90,000 + Bonus + Stock Options Cork About Us: My client is an innovative health tech startup committed to revolutionizing the healthcare industry through cutting-edge software solutions. Their mission is to improve patient care, streamline processes, and enhance medical outcomes through advanced technology integration. The business is in very early stages, so you are really getting in on the ground floor. In time, as the business scales, this lead engineer role will likely evolve into a Director of Engineering role once the headcount has increased significantly. Responsibilities: - Initially most of your time will be spent on Hands-On Development work, 80% hands-on, 20% leadership. - Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation. - Design, develop, and maintain healthcare software applications in compliance with medical standards. - Architect and implement backend solutions for high-performance, scalable, and secure applications. - Utilize AWS/Azure/GCP services for cloud-based applications, optimizing reliability and cost-efficiency. - Manage health data with database technologies while ensuring data integrity and security. - Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle. - Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience. - Proficiency in backend development using Python is ideal, other languages like Java, C#, Rust, Go will also be considered. - Strong understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP services and cloud architecture. - Database experience for efficient data storage and retrieval. - Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills. - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration. Nice-to-Have: - Experience with FHIR and HL7 standards integration. - Knowledge of data encryption methodologies. - Prior exposure to medical device development preferred.
