I am looking to speak with highly skilled Principal Software Engineers with expertise in mobile development for an exciting role with a large insurance provider in Dublin.
Responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership of the domain and contribute to the development of software development policies and standards.
- Design and specify large or complex components and modules, conducting impact analysis and providing recommendations.
- Evaluate software and system designs for adherence to standards and identify necessary corrective actions.
- Lead prototypes and simulations to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Review system designs and ensure the effective application of methods, tools, and techniques.
- Drive systems integration and build capabilities, including automation and continuous integration.
- Provide support according to established standards and procedures, ensuring application security, licensing, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Provide guidance and expertise to promote adoption of methods, tools, and adherence to policies and standards.
- Identify and evaluate suitable tools, techniques, and processes for configuration management.
- Lead learning programs and contribute to capability improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of enterprise experience with full software development lifecycle exposure.
- Extensive hands-on experience in mobile development, focusing on Android (Java/Kotlin) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C).
- Expertise in native operating system capabilities, app signing, CI/CD, and consumer app best practices.
- Deep knowledge of modern mobile frameworks, associated technologies, and development tools.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Strong understanding of app-backend communication and proficiency in design patterns, especially clean architecture.
- Track record of delivering high-quality software at scale within defined milestones and service levels.
