My top blue chip client is looking for a Financial Controller with experience in managing a month end financial reporting cycle with multiple stakeholders. Experience in managing numerous budgets plus preparing forecasts, based in Belfast. The role holder will be specifically accountable for; Working with senior leadership team to ensure business activity is delivered to the highest quality, in the most cost-effective manner to ensure we deliver our operational goals and within our financial budgets Working with the NI Director and operational team to provide financial insights to inform strategic decision making Improve understanding and impact of financial reporting on performance of the business unit Implement strong governance across NI Finance and review and update as necessary Own and drive the documentation of Accounting Policies, Policies & Procedures, and manual journals, ensuring the Business Unit is in line with Group Accounting Policies Demonstrating strong control and analytical thinking, and have overall responsibility and accountability for financial forecasting, planning, reporting of actuals and analysis Having a firm control of the risks and opportunities across the Business Unit, actively (i) mitigating risks and (ii) driving opportunities Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial information for the NI Director and Business Unit FD; ensuring a simple clear message is conveyed from multiple sources of data, analysis, and commentary Improving the impact, and insight, of financial reporting on business performance, clearly communicating the results and recommending actions to drive ever improving efficiency Driving value for money and ensuring commercial decision-making principles are applied Interrogate and analyse key adverse variances and request Business Partners conduct root cause analysis where applicable Providing appropriate analysis and insight to inform business decisions Identification of potential areas of improvement within the existing month end processes and support ongoing business change initiatives Own Month End process and financial forecasting for NI Balance Sheet Ad hoc projects (incl. raising of new cost centres for operational stakeholders, and Technical authoriser of licences) Please send through your availability and up-to-date CV if you are interested in discussing further
