Reason for the Position

To support the IT Team in both configuring and managing IT assets, supporting user client devices and applications, dealing with operational issues as well as developing service improvements.

The Purpose of the Position:

Provide technical support to Contracting PLUS staff, including desktop, laptop build and configuration, as well as application installations and configuration, 1st level PC & printer support. 2nd level support for key applications and infrastructure (i.e. servers, switches, etc.). This is a hands-on role where you will be working with a local and remote IT Team so having knowledge and confidence as well as a “can-do” team spirit is a must.

Principal Responsibilities: -Technical

Support the IT Team in managing and improving the IT infrastructure.  This involves having

• Experience of the following operating systems, Windows 10/11. Note: Experience of Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, Centos or variant is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience of building/configuring desktops, laptops in an enterprise environment.
• Experience of asset lifecycle management.
• Experience of installing/supporting Microsoft Office applications including Outlook.
• Experience/interest in IT security (Microsoft Defender, AWS, Cisco Secure cloud analytics)
• Printer support.
• Experience of switches, routers, firewalls a distinct advantage but not required.
• Experience of Amazon AWS a distinct advantage but not required.  
• Experience of Microsoft 365 a distinct advantage but not required. 
• Experience of working in an IT Support role.

Note: To be applicable, you must have 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar desktop support/analyst role. This role has the potential to grow with the person and will expose the applicant to other technologies thus providing a career progression to the potential position of Systems Administrator.

Education

·         Third Level IT Related Qualification (i.e. certificate, diploma, degree, other)
