Our client is seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated Integration Engineer with the appropriate skills and experience. As the Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for liaising with internal teams and customers to ensure a smooth integration with the RESTful API.
The company is redefining tax administration for global online sales. The solutions, which may be customized to meet the needs of any business, include VAT, GST, and US sales tax. They offer a technological answer for internet retailers doing business all over the world.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in integration with the RESTful API during the design, implementation and testing phases.
- Explain the reasoning behind API behaviour/design decisions.
- Deeply understand the needs of the customer on the integration and suggest the best approach possible.
- When necessary, review and possibly update API documentation/tutorials.
Basic Requirements:
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to apply functional/technical knowledge to job problems with a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge relating to the role.
- Being proactive rather than reactive for possible issues or challenges, working through solutions and communicating the severity and path to resolution.
- Operationally savvy, with an ability to identify and eliminate process friction while continuing to build scalable processes.
- Quick at prioritizing and responding to fluctuating, high-impact, urgent requests from multiple channels including Slack, video conference, email, in-person, etc.
- Previous experience working in a tax company and/or environment or similar a distinct advantage.
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as an engineer working with on web-related projects with companies having over 100 employees
- Understanding of RESTful API programming
- Payment or ecommerce integration experience
- Experience with creating technical documentation would be an advantage.
- JavaScript , Clojure, NodeJS, PHP, Python or Ruby web application programming skills would be an advantage.
Location: Ireland/UK
Travel: Ability to travel when required.
