The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications has responsibility for policy and programmes across a number of areas of national strategic importance, encompassing telecommunications; postal; energy; climate action; Circular Economy; environmental policy and air quality, and natural resources.

The Department is responsible for the implementation of the State’s Digital Connectivity Strategy which reinforces the need to deliver the National Broadband Plan (NBP). In addition, new initiatives are identified to secure our international connectivity, to support adoption of digital services across different sectors, to improve our 5G coverage and take up, and to invest in projects promoting the use of future technologies.

The Department wishes to recruit two Senior Telecommunications Engineers at Assistant Principal Officer level to fulfil key roles within the Department, one role is based in the National Broadband Plan (NBP) Division and the other role in based the Chief Technology Office (CTO).

For both roles, successful candidates must have significant relevant experience in the area and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in overseeing telecom network contracts in a management and governance capacity.
