Summary We are seeking a customer-focused, highly motivated, and technical IT Retail Support Engineer to join our IT Business Solutions Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for store and retail systems used in over 215 stores across the island of Ireland, identifying and implementing technical solutions to optimise business processes and supporting continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who can be a trusted technical lead, who understands business needs and is able to communicate complex technical details effectively. Requirements: To be qualified for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field, like, Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. What you'll do Keep the retail systems and hardware solutions running smoothly in our stores Manage new store openings and store modernizations to deliver the latest technology standards to our store colleagues and customers. Identify and implement efficiencies to business processes using technical solutions Provide comprehensive third level technical support for store and retail systems Diagnose and troubleshoot problems including root cause analysis, testing of proposed fixes and follow up to ensure the problem has been resolved Consulting with business departments on the introduction of new technologies and processes Coordination and execution of projects including the creation of technical concepts and relevant documentation Act as technical lead for cross departmental projects and ensure that IT policies and standards are adhered to Managing relationships with selected vendors ensuring that service delivery meets all expectations What you'll need Required Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role with client-facing experience Proficient in Windows Operating Systems (Server 2012 onwards, Windows 7 onwards) Basic network knowledge Comfortable with learning new systems and applying them in every-day use A keen problem-solver with the ability to use critical thinking to find the most productive solution Understanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to them Excellent organisational and time management skills Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels Experience of working in or leading a project team Full clean driving licence Desirable Linux experience Red Hat and CentOS Advanced networking knowledge Cisco, Huawei, Fortinet, Barracuda Knowledge of Oracle / SQL databases Knowledge of scripting and automation tools desirable PowerShell, Python, Ansible etc. Vendor certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA A+, Microsoft etc. German language skills are desirable What you'll receive Through our salary system, we ensure pay equality across all positions €43,250 rising to €55,150 over 4 years 20 days holidays per annum rising to 25 days after two years Private employee medical insurance Company pension after one year of service Flexible start and finish times Initial training and on-going development from an experienced team member Excellent opportunities for career progression Dynamic work environment New office facility with free parking On-site gym and canteen Up to 2 days remote working per week How to Apply: Applications in writing only please, send your full and up to date CV along with a cover note our Multi-Sector team in order to apply for this role.
