Performance Manager-National Broadband Plan: 

Department of Environment, Climate and Communications: 

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications has responsibility for policy and programmes across a number of areas of national strategic importance, encompassing telecommunications including broadcasting; energy; climate action; waste management and resource efficiency; environmental policy and air quality, and natural resources.

The National Broadband Plan (NBP) is a major state project aimed at providing high-speed broadband to rural Ireland in areas not served by the commercial sector. Delivery of high capacity and reliable digital connectivity under the NBP is fundamental to maintaining and enhancing competitiveness, as well as achieving sustainable, connected communities across Ireland.

The Performance Manager will address the management of the overall operational performance of contract obligations which will involve working with the NBP unit team and external advisors, including the technical and commercial functions. Governance of the operational performance of the NBP contract will also be a primary function for this role.

 Salary The Salary Scale for the position is as follows: (rates effective from 1st October 2022): Personal Pension Contribution (PPC) €73,236 €75,933 €78,668 €81,412 €84,151 €85,730 €88,495(LSI1) €91,270(LSI2)

Successful candidates must have:

·      A qualification at minimum level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in Engineering, Telecommunications or a related relevant discipline;

·      A minimum of 3 years’ experience of implementing or managing a contractual operational performance regime of a large complex telecom/networks project;

·      Operational experience of Next Generation Access (NGA) networks including Fibre to the Home (FTTH) technologies;

·      Ability to exercise independent judgement in understanding network analytical tasks;
