Senior Unix/Linux Administrator

Fully Remote position
12 Month contract
Responsible for level 3 support rolling out PAM solution to Unix and Linux servers by deploying, installing systems, software as well as analysing and resolving related problems. Responsible for service delivery and support, including configuration, problem, release, change management.
Primary Duties
- The Unix/Linux System Administrator performs all the following responsibilities at the experienced level:
- Provides guidance to Unix/Linux System Administrators and Support Analysts.
- Administers the configuration of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Provides level 3 problem management with responsibility for resolution and root cause analysis of the most software issues
- Debug and write sudoers rules, identifies, and resolves configuration issues related to authentication
- Provides effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures and developments to other IT personnel.
- Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic.
- Adheres to the Company's Ethics standards.
Requirements
- 3 - 6 years of HP-UX and Linux platform experience.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in speaking English.
- The successful incumbent in this position will have extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining and configuring Unix/Linux server hardware, operating system software and peripherals.
- Advanced knowledge and skills of the Unix/Linux server operating system is required. Strong analytical skills are required to understand, diagnose, and resolve technical situations
- Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside / outside the company and to interact with teams to reach goals and business objectives
- Detailed understanding of sudoers rules
- Advanced ability to write and debug script languages
- Detailed understanding of authentication (Kerberos, LDAP)
- Understanding of PAM specifically within *nix.
Preferred
- Experience deploying PAM solution on *nix systems is highly desired
- Experience with database administration, LDAP, directory services is beneficial
- Experience writing & managing code developed in any of the following languages python, PowerShell, c#, or java.
