About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be developing next generation decision support tools that seamlessly integrate into point of care clinical workflows. The Senior Software Engineer is essential for participating in all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing to develop high quality software releases). Working alongside the Optum Clinical Decision Support Team, you'll have the opportunity to platform and codify clinical knowledge and integrate it with real time patient data enabling clinicians to quickly make decisions based on current best practice guidelines. Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:
Participating in all phases of software engineering including analysis, application design, code development and testing
Following Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high quality software releases every 2 weeks
Developing web application components
Using patterns, integration/ collaboration concepts
Follow test driven development approach
Review code and transfer knowledge according to established team processes
Document and communicate design and application code specifications and details to other team members

Required Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Strong experience developing the full software development lifecycle with Java
Strong cloud/distributed architecture design pattern knowledge
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:
Health care industry experience
Webservice API development experience
