Job Summary

Responsible for the effective and efficient management of key elements that lead the technology solutions that satisfy business and product needs, both now and for the future. Develops technology strategies for future and current products. Develops business cases and product roadmaps for new products and services; oversees related staffing, resourcing, communications and budgeting functions; manages special projects and assignments; and represents the Vice President in selected internal and external initiatives. Works with third party vendors, from a business and engineering perspective, in regards to licensable technology. Defines requirements and ensures the meeting of company goals. Provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead all aspects of the technology function.

You will be responsible for hitting the ground running to implement the businesses already developed short term technology strategy and develop the long-range technology plan for the next five years.

Recruitment will play an essential part in building the right team for scale and expanding the existing team and empowering them to develop the platform and support the business for growth

The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for identifying talent while analysing the current IT function to ensure the skillsets are being utilised or not under-resourced.

You will work with the Software development and Systems Infrastructure team to identify any capacity issues to work towards the business strategy.

Build quality assurance in software architectural practice and output across your team

Monitor architectural quality to improve technological performance

Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology strategies and architectures

Communicate technology strategy to partners and Clients

You will have strong technical know-how with a proven track record in people leadership within a large SaaS environment.

A background in telecoms voice with expertise in VoIP architecture, Carrier Networks, unified communications and CPE provisioning and codecs.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including a willingness to actively particulate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including but not limited to the refinement of requirements, estimation & planning, platform design & implementation, test & deployment automation, and platform resiliency & support.

Work with business users to understand various business processes and transform those into robust solutions under tight deadlines.

Refine and import system stability to continuously refactoring and measuring performance.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications for different audiences, ranging from senior business to junior technology staff.

Knowledge, interest, and application of design patterns and development best practices.

Experience in working collaboratively within a globally diverse team.

A willingness to mentor peers to improve their UI development skills.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
