JOB TITLE: Digital Communications Officer SALARY: £13.12 per hour Department INITIAL LOCATION: Ballymena REPORTS TO: Communications Manager ACCOUNTABLE TO: Head of Corporate Communications Essential Criteria: Applicants must provide evidence that they have: A university degree or recognised professional qualification in Communications, public relations, journalism or marketing And At least 1 years experience working in a dedicated communications role with digital experience Or At least 3 years experience in a dedicated communications role which included professional digital communication experience JOB SUMMARY: The Digital Communications Officer will work with colleagues in the Corporate Communications Team to deliver the operational communications programme with the emphasis on digital communications but also via traditional media, events and public affairs as required. The post holder will write and edit online content for the website, intranet and social media to communicate key information and messages for both internal and external audiences, as well as supporting Trust services in creating and publishing their own digital content, where appropriate. They will lead on the development of a content planner ensuring content is engaging and meets the needs of the channel, audience and Trust. They will also be responsible for responding to queries and comments made in relation to social media posts, ensuring adherence to the escalation procedures as required. They will also regularly monitor channels ensuring any issues are brought to the attention of the Communications Manager and other teams as required. The post holder will demonstrate excellent multi-media skills contributing to the creation of digital content across all online platforms. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement communications plans for programmes and projects Write, edit, proof-read and co-ordinate high quality content for internal and external audiences Contribute to the development of communications infrastructure including websites, as directed by the Head of Communications. Write, edit and build online content for the Trust website and Intranet Ability to produce high-quality and compelling content to deliver key information and messages to internal and external audiences Provide professional communication and digital advice to managers and staff Assist teams in creating digital content Develop and implement a content planner for social media channels ensuring content is varied and meets the needs of the channels, audiences and Trust objectives and corporate branding guidelines Monitor social media channels ensuring any issues are identified and addressed as per the escalation procedure Ensure adherence to the social medi a procedures in line with the Trust s Social Media Policy and engage with and respond to comments and queries on social media sites Engage with and develop respectful and sensitive relationships with audiences online by implementing audience-focused digital communications activity across a range of channels Monitor and report on out-of-hours digital media activity if directed by the Head of Communications. Participate in the out-of-hours on call media rota where there is an identified requirement Undertake any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
