itContracting are seeking to recruit a Technical Officer - Office 365 / Application Support  for our client based in Cork

This is a 2 year fixed term contract

Purpose of role:
Our clients IT Services Department is looking for a person with suitable experience to fill the role of Microsoft 365/Applications Administrator in their IT Applications team. The successful candidate will be reporting to a Senior Technical Officer. Our client is embarking on some major transformation projects over the coming years and needs to recruit suitable expertise to assist with this transformation.

Duties and responsibilities of the position:

Applications

- Provide second level support for online program applications system.
- Manage and support the creation and distribution of SSL Certs
- Support the SSO system throughout the organisation
- Work with management and stakeholders to identify problems, suggest solutions and implement improvements.
- Work with support partners in resolving complex support issues
- Ability to lead meetings and triage calls.
- Work within tight deadlines and adhere to SLA’s.

Microsoft 365

- Provide support for Office 365 apps such as Microsoft 365 Teams, Sharepoint and Bookings.
- Identify and implement solutions to automate and improve business processes using the Office 365 Power platform
- Support existing automated process solutions in Office 365 Power Automate.
- Implement and support security policies.
- Provide expertise for complex issues and problems, act as escalation point for level 1 and Level 2 tickets, interface with Microsoft Support and various service providers.
- Perform scripting administration tasks and reporting using PowerShell.
- Develop scripts for automating processes within the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Support identity and access management across cloud and multiple domains.
- Provide support for the user provisioning system integration with Azure.
- Create user and how-to-guides guides for end-users.
- Continue to update, contribute, and maintain local SharePoint sites & Teams as required.
- Support data and application migration from legacy storage systems to Microsoft Outlook/OneDrive/Teams/Sharepoint.
- Work closely with staff to drive adoption and to promote the value of Outlook, OneDrive for Business and/or SharePoint Online
- Assist with IT project teams to design, build, and deploy O365 / Azure solutions.
- Assist with Cloud First related projects, including but not limited to the deployment of future Office 365 technologies.
- Daily administration of the Exchange online environment and the Microsoft 365 infrastructure.

- Very strong level of technical aptitude and problem-solving skills required.
- The potential candidate should be self-motivated with an aptitude for creative problem-solving, along with the flexibility to adapt to new tools and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and the ability to multi-task are essential
- The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to learn and grow within this role and have excellent written, communication and research skills
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- The successful candidate will be able to work individually and as part of a team
- The candidate must demonstrate specific attention to detail.

Qualification
 
 Essential:
 

- A relevant Level 8 degree from a recognized degree awarding authority, majoring in degree level studies related to Computer/IT or in a related discipline.

AND

- No less than three years relevant experience after obtaining the above qualification.

Desirable

- Microsoft 365 related certification.
- 3+ years’ experience in an Enterprise applications support role
- Previous experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including using Power Apps, Power Automate, and PowerBI to implement business solutions.
- Previous experience of Microsoft Teams.
- Good working knowledge of the full range of applications and services within Office 365.
- Experience with configuring and managing Azure Active Directory.
- Experience in identity management including registering and maintenance of integrated applications in Azure
- Experience in using Microsoft PowerShell for managing a Microsoft 365 tenant.
- A proven ability to design, plan, develop, test, and implement effective solutions that meet business requirements, and maximize Office 365 functionality and end-user experience.
- Working knowledge of best practices and methods for application security.
- Familiar with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and codes of practice.
