Job Title: Lead Data Cable Engineer

Location: BT2

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 8-hour shift , Monday to Friday

Job Description

We re looking for a high calibre project engineer with management experience to help build a growing account with a global media organisation. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to make the role their own.
* They will be the primary interface with our customers and as such are expected to represent the company in an appropriate manner.
* They will manage the implementation of end-to-end structured cabling projects.
* They will demonstrate excellent project management skills, built on a firm understanding of Information Technology and the through life support of ICT, presented as a service.
* The role may also expand into QA function to support the design, installation, and handover of assets to the client.
* They will also be required to monitor engineers workflow to ensure the current challenging deadlines are met.
* They are required to communicate effectively with all levels of management, organise teams and implement data comms projects across highly demanding environment.
* They share responsibility of all areas of Health and Safety and as such, should have the self-confidence to report team members who are putting themselves and others at risk or the company s reputation into disrepute.
* They must also be willing to work evenings and weekends as and when required.


The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to bids and proposals through the development of project plans to deliver a proposed solution, including the development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS), detailed dependency and risk registers, and the development of comprehensive project schedules including post implementation support to change.

* Manage end to end structured cabling projects safely, on time, & within budget
* Manage client expectations and ensure deadlines are met
* Engage with stakeholders across the account and identify opportunities
* Deliver projects from implementation through to handover
* Manage account s day to day health & safety, environmental & general staff wellbeing
* Audit site, complete technical documentation and upload documents on to share point
* Report teams absence & disciplinary issues
* Compile RAMS and submit to Workforce Planning Manager/HSQE manager for approval within the required time frame (a minimum of 48 hours prior to work commencing)
* Liaise with the HSQE manager and ensure company complies with current CDM
* Complete and submit Bill of Materials (form) to the Logistics Department within the required time frame (a minimum of 72 hours prior to desired delivery date
* Consult with Lead Engineers daily on all projects if applicable
* Attend Managers Meetings as and when required

Essential Skills
* Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6, Cat6E and Fibre)
* Proficient computer / tablet skills (Microsoft suite, Outlook, SharePoint)
* Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and written)
* CAD skills (VISO and/or equivalent).
* Good standard of education preferably with project management/Prince 2 certifications or relevant experience in project engineering or management.
* Project management experience
* Experience of managing a team

* Knowledge of risk assessment (2 years as a minimum) CIEH / SSSTS / IOSH MS.
* Be familiar with CDM 2015 & current HSE legislation and cabling infrastructure standards
* AutoCAD knowledge and experience
* Experience of business development and client facing roles.
* Knowledge of Northern Ireland cabling sector
