itContracting are currently seeking applicants for a Portfolio Manager. This is a Day Contractor position for the period of 12 months located with our avivation client in Dublin. This is a hybrid role.
Our client is migrating all infrastructure, applications and systems from on premise data centres to modern cloud technologies. We are seeking to hire an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee and manage design, delivery and implementation of a cloud network strategy. Candidate must have strong technical awareness and background in Cloud technologies – AWS, Linux, Wintel, strong experience of cloud implementation of software application integrations and a solid understanding of infrastructure technology deployments into MS Azure production environments from a technical and business impact perspective. This is a technical and customer facing role working within an Agile and Waterfall environment across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant 3rd level qualification with a strong technical focus
- 3-5+ years’ experience in software/hardware delivery environment in a complex organisational structure
- Strong program/portfolio management skills, B2C experience, and demonstrated ability to synthesise data in a high traffic/revenue environment
- 2+ years A strong understanding of best practises, tools and techniques for Agile/ Product Centric Delivery Management and Portfolio management with ability to continuously improve these processes
- Experience of implementing portfolios with a budget of at least €5 million
- Experience leading complex transformation projects

- Excellent leadership and delegation skills; influencing and managing activities as part of a cross functional areas to plan and execute effective delivery
- Experience in working with third party suppliers in the delivery of business or IT change initiatives
- Experience leading complex transformation projects
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally at levels up to Director and C Suite, and ability to make complex technology problem simple to the business. Must be capable of understanding and communicating the “big picture”
- Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and to influence stakeholders in support of delivery initiatives
- An effective team manager with proven ability to build, motivate and support a high performing team
- Highly motivated, driven, pragmatic and completely focused on portfolio / project delivery for business benefit
- Strong listening, analytical, problem solving and, with close attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate conflict resolution skills – driving resolution of any delivery conflict
Desirable Criteria
- In-depth understanding of product lifecycle and delivery, preferably at an enterprise level
- Solid knowledge of agile design and development methodologies
