Employing over 42,000 people in approximately 40 Government Departments, Offices and other agencies nationwide, and with a vision to provide world-class digital services to the State and to the people of Ireland, the Civil Service is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and committed individuals for appointment to senior management positions at Principal Officer level in ICT/ digital roles to drive ICT/ digital transformation across government. 

Those recruited from this campaign will play a significant leadership role in delivering on a range of Government strategies within their appointed organisations and in enabling digital engagement with the State by citizens, businesses, and public servants.

Although the majority of vacancies arising over the lifetime of the panel will be located in the wider Dublin area, a limited number of vacancies may also arise in some regional locations which may be filled from this panel. A panel will be formed from this competition to fill Principal Officer-level ICT/ Digital vacancies in Civil Service Departments, such as the Department of Social Protection/ Education/ Agriculture, Food and The Marine/ Justice/  Environment, Climate & Communications/ Public Expenditure and Reform (Office of the Government CIO), offices such as the Revenue Commissioners, and Civil Service roles in An Garda Síochána. 

Candidates should be aware that, due to the nature of the PO-level ICT/Digital role, there will be a requirement for successful candidates to work onsite at their place of work in line with your organisation’s policy on blended working.
