As the digital product owner of the acquisition team, you are a forerunner in the organization. With a relentless focus on usability and effectiveness, you will have complete control of the acquisition journey and conversion funnel across Mediahuis Ireland titles in order to drive significant growth.
Reporting to the Acquisition Manager, you will be technically savvy, well-versed in UX theory and practice and have a deep understanding of how digital subscriptions are sold.
Role Responsibilities (Overview)
End-to-end responsibility for optimising the conversion funnel to drive acquisition
Work closely with product owners and designers in Ireland and at Group level to develop best in class acquisition experience
Liaise with the internal technology teams and suppliers to fully understand technical capabilities and work around technical limitations
Construct and execute acquisition experiments using a/b and multivariate tests
Own the subscription shop and paywall experience across all platforms, making sure third party platforms such as Apple App Store and Google Play Store are optimised for acquisition
Keep abreast of industry and platform developments that will affect acquisition user experience
Develop wireframes and write technical requirements
Build great relationships with editorial teams and audience editors to ensure on-site acquisition is considered at every step of the reader journey
Develop bespoke acquisition journeys for audience segments and marketing campaigns
Use multiple sources of data to inform your work and decisions and report on their effectiveness
Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)
At least 3 years of experience as product owner/manager in a digital environment and demonstrable success in driving online growth.
Excellent knowledge of online marketing and digital media
Excellent understanding of subscription marketing and digital development, preferably in a news environment
Understanding of app development and in-app purchasing
Ability to implement innovations as quickly and efficiently as possible and combine strategy with day to day
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with different types of people
