itContracting are currently seeking applicants for an Senior Infastructure Engineer. This is a day rate contract role located with our client in Dublin. Some occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Fully support, install/configure and maintain our network, on-premise and cloud systems including (but not limited to) the following:
o Cisco SG Switches
o VMware ESXI Hypervisor Platform including vCenter management platform
o Windows 2012R2 Servers: Active Directory; File & Print; Line of Business Application Servers
o ManageEngine Desktop Central
o 8x8 Telephony Platform
o Sophos Cloud Central
o Fortinet Firewall Platform
o Storage Arrays
o Veeam backup and replication
o Office 365 Cloud Support
- Be able to report on the client's business systems, process and policy in support of audits, client requests and
compliancy inspections.
-Ensure accurate documentation of network maps, routing, server roles, software licensing etc is kept
for all active systems.
-Provide reports to the CIO in support of audits on system configuration and licensing.
-Install, configure and maintain all servers
-Maintain file sharing permissions based on departmental needs for data isolation and ensure relevant
access based enumeration rules are in place.
-Audit servers and access rights each month. Ensure leavers, joiners and changed roles are handled to
ensure data security and access levels are maintained.
-Install and configure the full suite of security tools are installed on all servers.
-Manage all server backups, ensure daily replication process is running effectively and snapshot
backups of file servers are accurately being processed/consolidated by Image Manager.
-Manage and support Firewall and VPN solutions (site to site and client to site) and any authentication
issues arising.
-Liaise with WAN provider to ensure support of MPLS and inter site links. Report on bandwidth
utilisation, user web traffic use and threat analysis to the CIO each month.
-Be the lead IS&T resource in our continuity plans and operate simulation testing of IS&T failover plans
with the continuity team.
-Liaise with two support staff reporting into this role, acting as an adviser to assist on escalated tickets and more complex matters arising.
-Monitor all systems to ensure capacity, utilisation or other warnings are acted upon.
-Continually look to identify issues and resolutions that enhance the operational effectiveness of our
systems, software or hardware.
-Advance personal knowledge and learning by research, testing, attending industry seminars & events.
Ensure the company Information Security and Acceptable Usage policy is followed by all users.
Requirements:
-Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior server & network support role with at least 5 years directly
managing people and projects.
- Extensive knowledge of technical project management, analysis and troubleshooting of Windows
client/server, network, firewall and cloud based computer systems.
- Proven experience configuring and managing modern server hardware alongside solutions such as
vSphere, Windows Server 2012, Veeam, SCCM and WDS.
-Qualification to 2 of the following: MCSA Windows Server 2012, CCNA Professional or VMware VCP
Pro.
