Manager Software Engineering
This managerial role is a great opportunity to accelerate the delivery and enhance the quality of the CME Post Trade Solution Value Stream. This is an excellent time to join a growing team, as we re-architect the CME Post Trade Solution set and evolve from an application centric mindset towards a value stream mindset.

As a manager you will be working with an experienced, highly capable team and have the responsibility to develop the team's mindset and approach. Post trade as an application stream interacts extensively with our development partners throughout CME, giving opportunities to profile your approach and build lasting relationships throughout the organisation.

Principal Accountabilities

People Management:
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their career goals.

Manage the team to realise successful application and service delivery and support.

Develop an ethos of DevSecOps and continual improvement in the team.

Assess development gaps across the team. Build out personal development plans for individuals, and work with upper management and the Belfast Business Office to plan and prioritise training.

Provide ongoing, continual feedback to team members.

Execution & Delivery:
Drive successful delivery of both functional and non-functional requirements for systems in your portfolio.

Collaborate with the Product Owners and Architects to plan, forecast, budget and execute projects.

Work in an agile SDLC that allows for frequent development iterations and deployments.

Maintain a forward looking plan for the systems in your portfolio, maintaining direction to achieve strategic goals.

Drive innovative approaches to adopting google cloud and partner with google cloud expertise

Forward Thinking:
Evolve applications in your portfolio through continual innovation.
Foster innovations and process improvements in the team to build an innovative culture, and ensure your application and the service to customers remains bleeding edge.
Open mindset to how Google Cloud can provide new paradigms for business delivery within Post Trade

Essential Criteria
Bachelor's degree (with honours) or equivalent/better strongly preferred, but substantial relevant experience could substitute
Experience working in technical teams, and providing direction to projects
Strong knowledge and experience of SDLC methodologies; agile is a big advantage.
