ItContracting are seeking to recruit a Data Governance Analyst for our client based in Carlow. This is a permanent position with an attractive remuneration package available.

The role will support our clients Data Governance Program with the primary goal to expand adoption of Privacy, Compliance, and Data Governance objectives of data management . As a critical member of the Data Organization, the candidate is expected to leverage experience with implementation of Data Governance policies and standards to protect customer data in alignment with Data Privacy Laws. 

The candidate will collaborate, assist, and carry out steps to optimize and transform ambiguous, manual practices into repeatable, sustainable, and scalable solutions.

Day to day administration of data governance is a critical part of data management. As such, the candidate will be responsible for administering key operational initiatives, primarily within the privacy and compliance space.Job Responsibilities:

- Partner with various internal and external teams to align privacy, compliance, and data governance objectives with business goals
- Analyze existing workflows to identify optimization and process improvement opportunities. Partner with key stakeholders to improve, redesign, and document these improvements
- Write technical documentation for compliance and governance workflows, guidelines, and operating procedures
- Serve as a liaison between business functions and various parts of the organization to ensure data needs are clearly defined, broken down into constituent elements, and evaluated against core governance principles like security, privacy, and data quality
- Partner with data stewards to identify, capture, and democratize business-critical metadata through data cataloging tools
- Define, manage, and govern key data elements with respect to data lineage
- Participate in the evaluation of tools and technology 
- Administer day to day functions of governing restricted and sensitive datasets for US and International audiences based on compliance and approvals
- Administer critical privacy and compliance initiatives  
- Execute special projects on an as-needed basis

Required skills and experience:

- 5+ years of experience in the information technology or related field 
- 2+ years of experience implementing data governance processes  
- 2+ years of experience implementing global privacy regulations, including CCPA and GDPR
- Demonstrated experience with implementation of data governance tools supporting metadata management, data discovery, data classification and ILM
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and act on next steps across multiple projects within a team environment
- Strong business partner that can work within cross-functional teams and management
- Effective communication skill for all levels and across all audiences; synthesizes complex issues and analysis to support decision making
- Strong writing skills, including experience with technical, operational, and training documentation
- Superior problem-solving skills with the willingness to seek out multiple solutions to technical and operational problems
- Attention to detail, even with the most routine tasks

Preferred

- Significant experience working with regulatory frameworks such as CCPA and GDPR  
- Insurance industry experience
- Business system analysis and data analysis skills
- Experience working with data scientists and data stewards 

 Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland or currently hold a Stamp 1G/4 Visa to apply.
