Microsoft Systems Administrator
itContracting are currently taking applications for a Microsoft Systems Administrator. This is a hybrid position for itContracting located with our enterprise client in Dublin City Centre
Requirements Overview
- 7 years+ Systems Admin experience for a Windows Server/Microsoft environment
- Cloud environment admin experience
- SCCM
- Ideally some solution design level experience.
- Qualifications required – certification(s) in Microsoft Certified Technologies, ideally a MCSE qualification.
Responsibilities
Systems Administrators will be responsible as part of a server administration team for the management (installation, configuration, imaging, patching, upgrading, maintenance, support, troubleshooting and decommissioning, availability of) of a large ICT System infrastructure, including but not limited to servers, storage arrays, desktops, laptops and mobile devices including all related software.
Some on-call hours will be required as part of a team rota.
The Systems Administrator will be required as part of a team to manage current, new and replacement Infrastructure devices, applications and new technologies with tasks to include:
Physical and Virtual Servers
- Monitoring of server performance response times and disk space usage
- Monitoring of server availability and event log monitoring
- Application of patches, anti-virus and other required software to operating systems as required
- Server installation of Microsoft software including MS Exchange, Office suite, SCCM, Teams
- Server certificate management
- Server security
- Management of server software including Windows Servers, Linux Servers, SQL, SharePoint, WebSphere, .Net, Alfresco
- VMWare environment
- Potentially assist in a migration to a Cloud environment
Storage Arrays
- Ongoing performance management and support of all storage area network equipment
- Storage capacity management and monitoring to ensure availability meets or exceeds business needs and demands
- Security of the data held on the storage arrays
- Back-up management and monitoring of performance and logs
Desktop/Laptops
- Building, updating and management of desktop images and deployment of same via SCCM
- Deployment, management and monitoring of VPN software for laptops and mobile devices
Access Control
- Administration and management of Active Directory
Systems Administrator are required to engage with third party vendors to resolve incidents when needed.
