To drive the development, usage and maintenance of the information infrastructure that is necessary for the Global Logistics Operations Center to function
To drive the positioning of logistics monitoring and analysis within the company
To lead, manage and nurture a team of four analytics experts to support you across all tasks
To maintain a close collaboration with the Director of Global Logistics Operations Center (G-LOC) and other logistics teams to share facts, promote insights and foster understanding
To participate actively in the coordination and resolution of operational disruptions (IT outages, capacity issues, etc.)
To understand all business activities and processes in detail
To make sure that sufficient information about them is captured and available in digital form
To integrate, curate, and analyse this information, and to communicate resulting observations and insights as input and decision support to trouble shooters, investigators, and managers
To provide relevant basic facts without unnecessary delay
To develop analytics initiatives that broaden and deepen the learning from data and lead to more valuable insights and decision support
Responsibility for the governance of relevant processes and definitions
Ownership of the mostly externally managed global IT backbone systems that support the Corporate Logistics “Global Transportation Network” eco system: Transportation Management Platform; Corporate Logistics Data Warehouse (SQL based); GTN Ticket System
Responsibility for all future developments of these systems including working in close contact with the source system operators to make sure the necessary information is available
Close collaboration with representatives of the Production Center, Sales Center, Customs and Trade compliance, logistics procurement and external logistics / IT Service Provider
To set and handle the priorities amongst the development of respectively the information infrastructure, the monitoring, and the analytics such that the Global Logistics Operations Center can function optimally
Initially, the primary focus will be on the information infrastructure
BA in business studies, core area logistics highly preferred or freight forwarding agent with a very high IT affinity
Experience with processes from an operations center and interest for "touchless processing"
Efficient cross-functional communicator, who is not easily intimidated by local jargon
At least 5 years’ experience in similar roles in the freight forwarding industry, FMCG, or retail industry
Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English
Additional language is highly desirable
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a high attention to detail
SAP-Knowledge in SD, MM & WM and Transport Management Systems
Team spirit, ability to work under high pressure
