Network Manager Job Responsibilities:
Manage staff by training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness. Source & purchase equipment and stock management.
Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments. Manages staff - plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
Research, recommend and implement technological strategic solutions, information technology strategies.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.
TCP/IP Networking: IP & DNS Deployment, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintenance.
IPv4, Ethernet switching, Vlans, Static Routing, Source Routing, EoIP, Queueing.
Hardware: Routers, Cisco Switches, UBNT Edge Switches, Racom, SIAE, Ceragon, Aviat, Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, Cambium.
Linux , SNMP, OID based custom probing, self-made scripts and monitoring solutions , stand-alone hardware solution Teracom TCW devices. UPS monitoring. IPMI for Server hardware.
Software: Cacti, Nagios, Net-SNMP, Bash shell scripts.
Power and Structural work: Deployment, upgrade and maintenance incl. design of hardware on masts, poles and containers.
Design, installation and commissioning of power systems. UPS, generators, renewables.
Microwave links: Deployment, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintenance.

You will be flexible in your hours, putting in early starts occasionally for maintenance while the customers sleep with early finish times or 3 day weekends to make up for it. Any given day might find you up a mountain, in the office or working remotely. You will have a very technical background, a curiosity for new technology and desire to manage rather than be managed.
