The ICT Software Development Specialist is an entry-level role which offers you an opportunity to develop a career in ICT, working in some of the largest organisations in the State. These roles will suit you if you have an interest in working in areas such as software and applications development (programming) including web applications and websites; mobile; and helping to deliver excellent digital services and user experience. Many of the candidates who were successful in recent campaigns are now integral members of teams who have been instrumental in the Government’s response to the pandemic and delivered critical projects of national importance and public prominence.
Although most vacancies arising over the lifetime of the panel will be located in the wider Dublin area, a limited number of vacancies may also arise in some regional locations which may be filled from this panel. The panel formed from this competition will fill ICT Specialist vacancies in Civil Service Departments, such as the Department of Social Protection/ Agriculture/ Justice/ Food and The Marine / Public Expenditure and Reform (Office of the Government CIO), offices such as the Revenue Commissioners and the Houses of the Oireachtas Service, and Civil Service roles in An Garda Síochána.
