Codec is looking for a Head of Project and Programme Management to lead our team on delivering large-scale projects based on the full stack of Microsoft business solutions with a strong emphasis on managing all aspects of the project.

• This role will be banded as a Master Practitioner within Codec’s career bands and will be a Practice Lead reporting directly to our Head of Operations.

• This role is suitable for an experienced Head of Project and Programme Management who has worked on the delivery of complex IT application solutions in a consulting environment. • You will manage a team of Project Managers to deliver several projects concurrently and to exemplary standards; possess a very clear delivery focus.

• As a Practice Lead you will be responsible for the career progression of the team and will work to ensure that the team continue to develop and maintain their professional qualifications.

• You will work closely with the Delivery Excellence Lead to ensure excellent governance including commercials on large scale projects.

• This is a permanent role (initially based remotely) and then based onsite in Dublin with a requirement to work at customer sites when necessary.

• The Head of Project and Programme Management ensures that best practice is developed and implemented to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of projects.

• You will be required to work closely with the Core Practice Leads to ensure high utilization of the team across all projects 

People management of the PMO, including career development defining appropriate training and staff retention.

• Development of the PMO as process and procedure owner.

• Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.

• Develop and implement a strategy for the PMO and project delivery to assist in the business meeting or exceeding its forward strategy.

• Build cohesion within the PMO team and motivate the team to meet the business objectives.

• Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will be key to helping us to effectively implement transformation of the way in which we work and ensure that we are operating at peak efficiency.

• To provide overarching leadership to support the operational delivery of the assuring standards across all work streams and ensuring they are in line with principles and objectives

• Manage of all aspects of a project from initiation through to operational support within timeframe and budget expectations, including fixed price contracts.

• Demonstrate commercial awareness, work alongside the Delivery Excellence Manager on the delivery of complex projects to customers and with a genuine commitment to playing a leading role in new business initiatives.

• Provide a single point of accountability as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to the PMO.

• Develop budgets, monitor and report progress against these to the project steering group

• Effectively manage the relationship with the customer and identify further project opportunities as they arise. Act as an escalation point to support the wider team.

• Ensure Projects are delivered in a manner that conforms to relevant standards and guidelines (i.e. regulatory, compliance, architectural frameworks etc.)

• Actively manage the project(s) against milestones and specifications and manage any change to individual project scope.

• Provide impact assessments for changes to timings and scope within the project and ensure that change requests are managed per defined processes.

• Ensure that controls and measures are in place to assure quality of deliverables.

• Ensure key stakeholders are kept well informed with accurate and timely information of progress, risks and issues

• Ensure interdependencies with other projects are maintained, managed and properly coordinated

•5 years experience in Head of Delivery/managing a Project Management team/PMO function. •Strong knowledge of the IT Lifecycle, including familiarity with the concepts, practices and procedures within.

•Proven experience working in large organisations delivering enterprise -scale transformational projects with large user bases

•Experience in working effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines, maintaining control at critical points in the project.

•Demonstrated relationship management skills including the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with key stakeholders.

•Preferably experience working with the Microsoft suite of business applications, including Dynamics CRM, Dynamics ERP, SharePoint and Office 365 based products.

•Ability to understand complex business processes quickly

•Excellent communication skills and the ability to use different media to communicate in the most effective manner for the situation.
