Web & Application Developer

We are currently seeking to recruit a Web & Application Developer to join a leading employer at their Belfast facility on a long term contract basis.

The Technical Analyst will be responsible for developing, supporting and documenting all N. Ireland In-house developed applications and Intranet Sites. In addition the Analyst will be responsible for identifying and supporting the migration of applications to a common Enterprise solution or standard.

The Technical Support Analyst should be knowledgeable in ASP, ASP.Net, VB 6, VB.Net and integrations with Sql Server and MS Access.
1 Takes technical responsibility for several stages of the life cycle for application and web development of simple and moderately complex systems covering: investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, implementation and support.
2 Competent to perform all development, and/or system administration assignments without close supervision; more complex assignments may require closer supervision and assistance;
3 Works directly on application/technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions;
4 Under the direction of more senior staff, assists in system migrations based on requirements gathered from customers;
5 Participate in Application testing and user acceptance testing of system or infrastructure components;
6 Perform integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased software and hardware solutions.
7 Designs and implements processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.

The individual must be able to successfully function in an environment where high quality and efficiency are expected.

The Technical Support Analyst would report directly to the on-site Senior IT Supervisor.

On-the-Job and as required training will be provided.
This role may involve visits to EAME & US facilities to meet peers & Infrastructure Services

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Essential:

* A Degree in Information Technology plus 1 year post qualification experience in a relevant discipline, such as, ASP, ASP.Net, VB 6, VB Net.

OR
* An HNC/HND in Information Technology plus 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant discipline, such as, ASP, ASP.Net, VB 6, VB Net.

OR
* Candidates who can demonstrate substantially more experience in a relevant discipline, such as, ASP, ASP.Net, VB 6, VB Net.
* Significant experience in Application or Web Development.

Desirable:
* SQL Server or MS Access experience
