UI/ UX Developer

SENIOR UX/UI DEVELOPER

Report to: Development Manager

Overview of Role:

The role requires someone who thinks strategically about the importance of user experience but can also work well individually and in a small team environment. Working closely with Business Analysts, Product Management, R&D agile teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure UI and UX is a key part of the company product roadmap deliverables. The UI / UX Developer will own and drive UI and UX best practice in the product roadmap deliverables. The UI/UX developer needs to be hands on using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery. Experience of using bootstrap and Kendo UI is highly desirable. Must have online portfolio to demonstrate previous work.

Main Responsibilities:

·         Prototyping new versions of the product

·         Help create and maintain UX/UI strategy

·         Develop production-quality frontend code

·         Strong knowledge and experience in responsive design

·         Experience in Front-end web design with a focus on user experience and usability

·         Developing documentation and style guides for developers

·         Work with UI designers to create concepts to test ideas

·         Must ensure that UX/UI continues to be fully embedded in the agile development process

·         Work with BA’s and internal teams to ensure that features are being developed and supported with wireframes and other visuals.

·         Guide, mentor and coach business analysts & developers to improve usability methods.

·         Keeping up-to-date with legal requirements, standards, guidelines and professional good practice relating to UI design, accessibility, usability testing and usability research

·         Manage 3rd party vendors.

Experience:

·         Must be highly proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery

·         Experience of Bootstrap highly desirable

·         Experience of Kendo UI Highly desirable

·         5yrs+ experience as a UI/UX developer with a web-based application

·         Expert Prototyping, Wireframe and Mock-up experience

·         Excellent verbal & written communication skills

·         The ability to influence and negotiate with relevant stakeholders

·         Proven history of progressing product designs from initial concept, through architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to finished product.

·         A comprehensive online portfolio that illustrates design processes and execution of concepts across platforms.

·         Excellent presentation skills.

·         Experience with design tools

·         Experienced  in applying quality standards to all tasks

·         Keeps up-to-date on other market products

·         Proven history of progressing product designs from initial concept, through architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to finished product.

·         Experience in designing and conducting usability research and presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.

·         Knowledge of design fundamentals including information design, visual design, industry UI standards for web-based applications, and ease of use best practices

·         Financial services business processes experience an advantage

Education:

IT related qualification would be advantageous
