Summary
The successful candidate will lead a team of Test Publishers tasked with taking our client’s very specific requirements and developing them into a functional, high quality computer-based examination that will give candidates the best possible examination experience. You will work closely with the Test Production Manager and lead a team of 8-12 people, lead experience is essential. You will need to be able to work to deadlines, with a good eye for detail and accuracy, while being able to think outside the box and look for new ways to improve quality. Organisation and strong communication skills are a must.
Knowledge & Skills
Track and manage individual and team output to ensure all deliverables deadlines are being achieved.
Manage and coordinate the reporting of project status to Manager and other stakeholder groups.
Act as initial escalation point for team members offering technical support and general guidance on next steps.
Manage the assignment of work within the team
Lead and inspire a dedicated team of test publishers who build key critical exams for professionals to be delivered in a computerized format.
Facilitate internal team status and prioritization discussions; also participate in cross-team status and prioritization discussions
Monitor performance of Test Publishers & and provide guidance for individual improvement and growth.
Work with manager to implement team processes. Make recommendations / implement process improvement plans and executes as appropriate.
Participate in the design and implementation of test production plans, including requirements definition and scheduling as appropriate.
Design and construct tests to client, workstation and channel specifications; assure accuracy and quality of finished product.
Troubleshoot software and operational problems; provide support to clients and client services on software and technical issues; special projects as assigned.
Maintain meticulous control of test source code and revision histories.
Verify functionality of tests; design testing strategies for complex delivery or scoring methods.
Train clients in the use of test construction software and provide on-going technical support.
Qualifications & Experience
Good overall technical skills; working knowledge of MS-DOS, Windows and a wide variety of PC software, including advanced MS Office skills.
Good communication, organizational, and problem solving skills; detail oriented, flexible and thorough
Knowledge of HTML required
Knowledge of VBScript, Javascript, and XML a plus.
Knowledge of Programming Background and understanding of how MACROs work
Knowledge MS Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio a plus.
Strong at assessing requirements of new projects.
Project experience in a product-development setting (preferably software) a plus.
Skilled at troubleshooting technical problems.
Skilled at explaining to clients clearly and diplomatically the exact nature of a problem; ability to work with clients and program management in creating appropriate solutions.
Ability to work effectively on a variety of complex tasks simultaneously.
Independent, resourceful worker.
Project experience in a product-development setting a plus.
IT Diploma or higher desirable
