A compound semiconductor company, our client develops high-speed light sources in visible range wavelengths. With many years’ experience of photonics research, optical expertise and an extensive IP portfolio, they develop cost-effective solutions. They are currently looking to recruit a talented Test Engineer to join their team.

If you’ve have experience in an electronics lab, our client wants to hear from you. This is a unique opportunity to join a manufacturer of world-class photonic communications products and work with a small, highly-motivated engineering team.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the test and characterisation of high speed electrical and optoelectronic products for data communication applications. You will work with devices including driver and receiver ICs, LEDs, photo-detectors and electro-optical transceivers.

As a Test Engineer, your other duties will include:

– Supporting design teams in product debugging and handling the characterisation of new devices
– Working closely with design and product engineering teams to successfully release products to manufacturing
– Developing test programs

To be considered for this role, you must have:

– Proven experience within an electronic lab environment
– Experience of automating the acquisition of characterisation data
– A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or Science

Furthermore, as a Test Engineer, you will be highly analytical and technically competent. Extremely organised, you must also have good communication, interpersonal and planning skills.

Experience of high-speed PCB designs would also be a plus, but by no means essential.
