Working alongside the Test Manager and wider development teams the successful candidate will test a range of education solutions against agreed customer requirements. The role includes the creation of test plans and cases, execution of test cases, logging of errors and the production of test results for onward distribution to the customer.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assist with the development of all testing documentation.
* Writing test cases, which support the test plan
* Perform testing as specified in the test case documentation, usually over several test cycles, including regression testing.
* Generate or identify any test data requirements.
* Documenting test results.
* Logging errors on an error tracking system, reporting the errors to the developers and following it up to ensure that corrective action is taken.
* Accurate reporting of and the provision of metrics on test execution and errors detected.
* Re-testing bugs to confirm that they have been corrected and updating the issue tracking system.
* Escalate issues when needed.
* Participate in systems implementation and provide post implementation support.
* Provide input for internal process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
* An I.T. related qualification
* Knowledge of testing methods and the software development cycle
* Proven experience of working in IT industry
* Structured, analytical and quality focused in approach with strong attention to detail
* High standard of communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to schedule tasks to manage time and prioritise
* Self motivated with the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, with a drive and commitment to delivery
Desirable
* ISEB testing certification, or any similar accreditation
* Exposure to, or experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)
* Exposure to Compuware, Mercury’s Test Director, or any similar automated test management tools
