Technical Manager

Technical Manager, £25-£30k, Dungannon, permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:-

* Management of site Technical and Quality Assurance Systems;
* Management and guidance of the Technical/Quality Assurance Team in all aspects of the business;
* Ensure all quality records are maintained in accordance with HACCP System;
* Keep abreast of developments within the food industry and relate back to the relevant personnel within the Company;
* Ensure all training of new and existing personnel is carried out, i.e., in new specifications, work instructions and procedures, induction and hygiene training;
* Carry out employee appraisal/reviews of subordinate staff;
* In accordance with company policies and procedures, and in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager, deal with employee relations issues/grievances or disciplinary issues that may arise;
* Management of all external and internal company audits;
* Management of all key criteria in relation to customer product specifications.
* Ensure all policies, procedures and documentation within the company, that fall within the Technical and Quality functions, are appropriate and disseminated within the company accordingly;
* Liaise with production and sales teams in relation to all aspects of the business;
* Liaise with customers on all Technical/Quality Assurance aspects;
* Handle all corrective action criteria – to include complaints, withdrawals, rejects and implement the necessary Preventative Action;
* Undertake other duties or special projects that may be assigned by the General Manager and considered to be reasonable and within the remit of the Technical Manager role

Criteria

* A minimum of two to three (2 – 3) year’s Technical/QA Management experience
* HACCP Training
* Proven track record of directing and motivating employees
* Experience working in FMCG Sector – Chilled Foods/Fresh
* Project Management experience
* Third level Qualification in Food Science or related discipline
* Food Hygiene Certificate – Intermediate/Advanced
* Good standard of computer literacy, to include Microsoft Office Suite
* Post-grad qualification in related discipline/Qualification in other relevant discipline – business/ management
